Personal Fitness coach

Students that complete this program will be well prepared for a position as a personal fitness trainer. The class will present knowledge, latest research and practical application of aerobics, water exercises, stretching, use of machines and cross training for other sports. Emphasis will be placed on muscle strengthening and weight training as is typical in physical therapy. Students will be able to design exercise programs learn marketing techniques within an established gym or for private clientele. The class is personalized to meet the needs of students and includes hand-on training. The program is open to the general public, students, and licensed therapists for a certificate, and will assist in preparing the individual to take the National certification test given by ISSA. For individuals interested in practicing as personal fitness trainers, personal training is an unregulated profession in the State of Florida. However, most employers require a certificate. ISSA is recognized as a worldwide leader in the sports and fitness world by educating over 80,000 health professionals including fitness and athletic trainers, coaches, physicians, chiropractors, and physical therapists.

Core Workout

Core workout includes strengthening your inner muscles, using your inner trunk without support. Examples include push-ups, sit-ups, and crunches. These techniques translate well to today's society, where millions of people could use the help of a fitness trainer.

Weight Training

Learn the ins and outs of weight training and how to prescribe different types of workouts for your clientele.  You'll be able to know what exercises work best with what type of weight, and how much weight they should be using when exercising.

Aerobics

Aerobic exercises will help you with cardio-based activities. You will learn different ways to get the blood pumping and what type of aerobic exercise is best suited for what type of intended result.

Nutrition Counseling may be offered by personal fitness trainers, massage therapists, as well as facial specialists. However anyone interested in a healthy lifestyle may take this program. This instruction is an adjunct to other licensures and certifications and is no way a dietitian diploma. The certification program does require an exam proctored by ISSA and also offers an ITEC exam for international diploma. Nutrition is everyone‘s subject of conversation and interest today, now that science in the last decade has proven a natural diet is best for prevention and cure of life‘s top 6 diseases. The program concentrates on current research on contemporary lifestyle factors, disease prevention, and natural diet. Conditions such as cancer, and diabetes will be the main concerns along with some accents on herbology, juicing, and detoxification. Once having learned the basics for understanding nutrition, the individual will then be able to instruct on healthy life habits. Your selection of nutrients and food choices will improve. Additionally, your feeling of well-being and ability to live and enjoy life will improve. This program is a must for anyone who feels their present dietary practices are negatively influencing their everyday ability to perform.

Learn the ins and outs to identifying specific dietary needs and how to adhere to detoxes and diet restrictions. You will learn what exactly a client should be looking to fix in their consumption habits, and how to steer them towards a more healthy lifestyle.

Weight Loss

Learn how nutrition affects weight loss, what kinds of foods are important in a daily lifestyle, what kind are important for exercising and weight loss, and what kind are important to avoid at all costs!
